“Arabic Oud House” concert.
The Roman Theater, in the Heritage area of El Alamein, will Host the “Arabic Oud House” concert, in its first participation in the New Alamein Festival.
The concert will be held on Thursday, July 18, and will witness the participation of a notable group of artists including Mohamed Yehia, Salma Mokhtar and Micheal Onsy.
The three veteran artists will perform a number of immortal compositions such as “Zekryaty” and “Alf Leila W Leila” for Umm Kulthum and Medley for Sayed Darwish’s songs.
Also “Sahar El Layaly” and “Nassam Alaina El Hawa” for Fayrouz, Shadia’s “En Rah Menek Ya Ein”, Wadie El Safy’s “Ala Remesh Oyounha”, Mohamed Roushdy’s “Tayer Ya Hawa” in addition to two compositions by Nasir Shama.
This concert is a collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the United Media Services, in conjunction with “Bait Al Oud” celebrations of the silver jubilee of its founding.
The event aims to take the audience on a musical journey through time, reviving the essence of the past and creating a special magic for the present.
The second edition of the New Alamein Festival kicked off on July 11 and will continue to August 30.
It features a wide range of artistic and sporting events, following the success of the festival's first edition last year.
In accordance with the state's plan to reduce electricity load consumption, New Alamein Festival will hold 50 percent of its activities during the day.
Mona Abdel Wahab, the media spokesperson for the festival said during the press conference that 50 percent of the festival’s activities will be during the day, in addition to relying on solar energy and electric generators.
Given the current circumstances, the Alamein Festival has decided to launch its second edition under the slogan 'Alamein, the World,' raising the beloved Palestinian flag to flutter freely, with pride and dignity, alongside the Egyptian flag.
The festival has also decided to allocate 60% of the profits from the second edition of Alamein festival to support our people in Palestine.
This means that every Egyptian or Arab family participating in the festival's activities and events will be supporting a Palestinian family.
