The talented Egyptian singer Dina El Wedidi will perform at the opening concert of the second edition of the New Alamein Festival on July 12.
Wedidi and her band is expected to present a performance that blends traditional arts and ancient folk singing with modern music.
Additionally, a group of Palestinian dancers will present a grand performance of traditional Palestinian dances.
Wedidi performed at the 30th edition of Salah El-Din Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on August 24, 2022.
It is known that Wedidi is a young singer with a special character and style.
Her singing debut came in 2008 with the band "El-Warsha", and then came her decision to focus on singing as a private project.
She founded her own band in 2011 to build her own singing career.
She presented several works with a group of distinguished musicians, including artist Fathy Salama, Massar Egbari band, artist Hani Adel and others.
Wedidi presented many distinctive concerts in Egypt and succeeded in achieving a popular base that savors this type of art.
The second edition of the New Alamein Festival kicked off on July 11 and will continue to August 30.
It features a wide range of artistic and sporting events, following the success of the festival's first edition last year.
In accordance with the state's plan to reduce electricity load consumption, New Alamein Festival will hold 50 percent of its activities during the day.
Mona Abdel Wahab, the media spokesperson for the festival said during the press conference that 50 percent of the festival’s activities will be during the day, in addition to relying on solar energy and electric generators.
Given the current circumstances, the Alamein Festival has decided to launch its second edition under the slogan 'Alamein, the World,' raising the beloved Palestinian flag to flutter freely, with pride and dignity, alongside the Egyptian flag.
The festival has also decided to allocate 60% of the profits from the second edition of Alamein festival to support our people in Palestine.
This means that every Egyptian or Arab family participating in the festival's activities and events will be supporting a Palestinian family.
