Egyptian star Amir El-Masry participated in a video about Gaza, in which he read the testimony of Dr. Irfan Galaria about the war in Gaza.
On his official Instagram profile, Amir posted a video of him about the voices of Gaza, saying that among the testimonies is the testimony of Dr. Irfan Galaria, who says that he can no longer know how many orphans came to him and how many bullets were in their bodies, and that he served in many wars, but what he saw in Gaza for ten days made him realize that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide.
Amir El-Masry is considered one of the most prominent international voices supporting Palestine. Recently, he took part in the video How to Steal a Home? Alongside Ahmed Dash, Sedky Sakhr, Ola Rushdi, and Yasmina El Abd.
In November 2023, during the BAFTA Scotland Awards Ceremony, Amir El-Masry made a statement on the red carpet emphasizing the need for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Before presenting the award for Best Actress, he stated, “Before I start I just want to say that my heart goes out to all the Women men and children who are currently suffering right now in Gaza. Let’s hope for peace in the region and an imminent Ceasefire.”
It is worth mentioning that BIFA, the British Independent Film Awards has selected Amir El-Masry to compete for the Best Supporting Performance Award for his role in the film In Camera.
Through his official social media pages, Amir El Masry previously commented on this nomination, saying, “I’m nominated for the Best Supporting Performance award for my role in the film In Camera. Good news, but what is happening in the world makes me feel very heavy about it.”
