Egyptian star Amir El-Masry appeared in the first photo from “Giant" movie alongside prominent actor Pierce Brosnan.
The biopic sports drama "Giant" tells the story of the British Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem Hamed.
The sports movie will tackle Hamed’s journey in the world of boxing under the tutelage of his Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle.
El-Masry will portray Hamed and Brosnan is set to portray Ingle.
The film will be written and directed by Rowan Athale.
Originally planned to shoot interiors in Malta, the production of "Giant" was moved back to the UK.
In addition to Amir El-Masry, and Pierce Brosnan, the film stars several other actors, with Sylvester Stallone serving as the executive producer.
El Masry competed in the Ramadan drama with “Maleeha” series which was dedicated to support the Palestinian cause.
On his official social media pages, Amir El-Masry previously announced being the new face of MYSLF, the men's fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent.
In November 2023, during the BAFTA Scotland Awards Ceremony, Amir El-Masry made a statement on the red carpet emphasizing the need for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Before presenting the award for Best Actress, he stated, “Before I start I just want to say that my heart goes out to all the Women men and children who are currently suffering right now in Gaza. Let’s hope for peace in the region and an imminent Ceasefire.”
It is worth mentioning that BIFA, the British Independent Film Awards has selected Amir El-Masry to compete for the Best Supporting Performance Award for his role in the film In Camera.
Through his official social media pages, Amir El Masry previously commented on this nomination, saying, “I’m nominated for the Best Supporting Performance award for my role in the film In Camera. Good news, but what is happening in the world makes me feel very heavy about it…”
