The Palestinian Movie ‘El Ostaz’ has been released in Egyptian cinemas

The Palestinian movie "El Ostaz" ( The Teacher) has been released in Egyptian cinemas on May 15.

 

“El Ostaz” is based on the life of an English schoolteacher named Bassem, who lives in the town of Burin.

 

 

After Bassem's son is lost to the resistance, he develops strong bonds with his teenage students and neighbors, Adam and Yacoub.

 

 

 

The plot of the film focuses on the Gilaad Shalit story, to which Bassem has exclusive access due to his involvement with the resistance.

 

 

 

The brave Yacoub fights against Jewish settlers and is later killed. Following this, Bassem and Lisa, a British volunteer who had been counseling Yacoub at school, start a romantic relationship. Together, they decide to help Yacoub's family.

 

 

 

The film stars Saleh El Bakry, Mohamed Abdelrahman, and Nabil El Raie, among others. El Ostaz is written and directed by Farah Nablusi.
