“Bridging Cairo & New York” exhibition was launched in the United States of America under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion and the Regional Office of the United Nations.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Alcinda Saphira president and head curator of Saphira and Ventura Gallery and Shereen Badr CEO and founder of Artoday.
The exhibition presents a variety of artworks by ten Egyptian artists. The exhibition reflects the development of the contemporary Egyptian art movement, as it highlights paintings specialized in modern and contemporary art, design, and architecture, with the aim of engaging and connecting artists from different communities in the world, and promoting and displaying the latest artists, designers, and architects in a contemporary and alternative environment.
Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, indicated that the authority’s sponsorship of this exhibition comes within the framework of the media strategy for tourism promotion in Egypt, which among its goals is to shed light on the Egyptian destination as a vibrant, modern, contemporary destination, as this exhibition reflects the development of the contemporary Egyptian artistic movement. It highlights the talents of Egyptian artists who present an innovative and diverse vision of contemporary art.
