The 2024 award season has begun, with the 81st annual Golden Globes premiering within the first week of the new year.
On March 10th, the 96th annual Oscar’s will be taking place, one of the highest esteemed award shows in the film and movie industry, with Jimmy Kimmel to host once again.
The nominated movies for each section are set to be voted on Thursday, Jan. 11 and finished the following Tuesday, Jan 16.
Best Picture contestants like Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Oppenheimer, have left an impact on their audiences, garnering a massive fan base and love from the masses.
For Best International Feature Film, 88 countries submitted a film, with 15 shortlisted to be voted on. Countries like Denmark, Finland, Italy, Japan, and Morocco are all contenders.
Best Music originally had 148 eligible production, such as Barbie, The Color Purple, Poor Things, and Saltburn. The music branch will vote on 15 films.
Best Visual Effects, comprised of ten films in the running, will be viewed and artists will be interviewed on Jan. 13. Napoleon, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are all eligible.
Nominations for the 96th Academy Awards will be announced on Jan 23.
