MEDFEST-Egypt and its founders Mina El Naggar and Khalid Ali launched the Cultural Leaders Bootcamp project in collaboration with the British Embassy in Cairo as part of Laha Wa Ma’aha (For Her and With Her) project.
 
 
The program is fully supported and free to students from Egypt’s different governorates, such as Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag, Dakahleya, Behaira, Damnhour, Mansoura, and Port Said.
 
 
 
It is noteworthy that MEDFEST-Egypt will receive requests to participate in the Bootcamp through its official social media pages until December 31, and a limited number will be selected from each governorate to participate in it.
 
 
 
The program will last for 6 intensive days, divided over 2 camps, with interactive curriculum and volunteering events.
 
 
The program aims to train the participants to become active cultural leaders in their communities, explore different angles of culture- film and art appreciation along with planning a social impact value, organize events and monitor/evaluate.
 
 
 
Additionally, to explore the connection between films and health, as well as the use of art and films in raising discussions about health-related issues in several communities.
 
 
This Bootcamp is an intense learning journey for candidates who are passionate about organizing events from scratch and using art in advocacy for society, health, stigma, and gender related issues.
 
 
 
MEDFEST-Egypt is a touring international short film forum that explores the human condition, from a well-being and health perspective It is the first of its kind in the MENA region.
 
 
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Mina El Naggar and Dr. Khalid Ali, MEDFEST-Egypt is bridging the gap between films, medicine and Art.
 
 
 
Bringing the artistic and the educational experience of MEDFEST-Egypt far beyond film screenings, the festival puts together ideas and insights from different groups of healthcare professionals, filmmakers and the general public, in workshops directed towards healthcare awareness and filmmaking.
 
 
The objective of the parallel program is to add more space for interaction and reflections based on the topics tackled in the film selection.
