Drama/ feminist film ‘Certain Women’ to be screened in Cairo

CAIRO- 20 July 2017: The drama film Certain Women, released in March 2017,will be screened at Cimatheque –Alternative Film Centre in Downtown Cairo from July 22 - 25.

Directed and written by Kelly Reichardt, the film revolves around three women who thrive to lead their own paths in the American Northwest. The three women comprise of a lawyer who is both in a sexist and a hostage situation, a wife/other thriving to build her dream house but is challenged by men in her life and a young law student who is in an ambiguous relationship with a lonely ranch hand.

Starring Michelle Williams, Kristen Stewart, and Laura Dern, the film has won the EDA Female Focus Award for Best Woman Screenwriter in 2017 and won the Atlanta Film Critics Society Awards among other awards and nominations.
