Under the patronage of the Ministries of Tourism, Antiquities, and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Egyptian National Committee for UNESCO, and with the participation of several Arab and foreign artists from around the world, the "Kultebrivatore - Art D'Égypte" foundation, specialized in organizing art and cultural exhibitions, held a press conference to announce details of its annual exhibition.
The third edition of the international exhibition "Forever Is Now," which will be held in the historic area of the Pyramids Plateau in Giza Governorate, and another site listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, from October 26 to November 18, 2023.
The conference was attended and participated by Ambassador Omar Salim, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, Mr. Al-Abbasi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Egyptian National Committee for UNESCO, Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, founder of "Art D'Égypte," and several official and cultural figures.
Ambassador Omar Salim, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, stated: "I am honored to participate in the announcement conference for the third edition of the exhibition 'The Eternal is Now,' and I look forward to seeing the new addition this year."
Salim added that the third edition serves as evidence of the exhibition's success in previous editions, as it features artists from all around the world. The exhibited artworks are inspired by the historical site where they are displayed, and therefore, they do not affect the historical artifacts.
He further emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs values and supports arts and culture, considering them as one of Egypt's soft power resources. They are among the most prominent means to bring people and countries closer together, contributing to stability and peaceful coexistence.
He concluded by welcoming all participating artists from Arab and foreign countries, along with all the new additions for this year.
Nadine Abdel Ghaffar said: "I am delighted to launch the third edition of the exhibition 'Forever Is Now,' which is one of the most important and prominent artistic projects in the journey of the 'Art D'Égypte' foundation.
It has received significant interest from various cultural institutions working to support the fields of arts and culture in Egypt, by presenting a sustainable and stimulating cultural development vision."
Nadine added: "Egypt has witnessed a state of cultural and artistic activity in recent years and is moving clearly towards promoting this vital sector for the revitalization of Egyptian tourism.
‘Art D'Égypte' is proud to organize this art exhibition event for the third consecutive year, which supports this vision and aligns with its objectives by bringing together artists from various countries to the enchanting area of the Pyramids in Giza. The Egyptian artist, Mohamed Benawi, expressed his delight in participating in the third edition of the exhibition "The Eternal is Now," being the sole Egyptian participant this year.
Benawi stated that Art Egypt approached him to participate this year following the success of the previous editions.
He added that he is contributing with an interactive piece linked to ancient Egyptian culture, reflecting his philosophy and study of the universe, and his desire to manifest the laws of the universe on Earth.
Expanding on his art, he said, "I can see the entire world and feel it as soon as my eyes fall upon a massive mosaic painting that formed without consciousness, where all beings played a role. Two of these beings are the good that builds cities and the evil that destroys them, just as when we build a house or plant a tree or when we engage in a demonstration – what we do is place a piece or some stones to create a massive painting. This also applies when we destroy a house – we participate in a certain change in its fabric by shifting the positions of the stones and the spaces between them, making it seem as if it was destined to be there.
He added: "For this reason, I see the world as a mosaic painting, where its features constantly change as they have since the creation of the universe, and this change will continue until the Day of Judgment."
About "Art D'Égypte": The "Art D'Égypte" foundation is a platform aimed at promoting Egyptian art on the global stage.
It has organized a series of leading exhibitions that have changed the way the world views contemporary art in Egypt by merging and bridging ancient and modern art.
The annual exhibitions, held at heritage sites that connect Egypt's rich past with its creative present, have included "Eternal Light" in the Egyptian Museum in 2017, "Nothing Fades... Everything Transforms" at the Prince Mohamed Ali Palace in Manial in 2018, and "Reimagined Narratives," the third annual exhibition held in 2019 at four historic locations on Muizz Street in historic Cairo, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It also included their prominent exhibition "Forever Is Now," held in its first and second editions on the slopes of the historic Giza Pyramids. "Art D'Égypte" was also invited to participate in the Abu Dhabi Art Fair in 2019 and "Art Geneva" in 2020.
