CAIRO -25 June 2023: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Giza’s pyramids and sphinx, and posted a group of photos of his visit to this one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
“I thank PM Mostafa Madbouly for accompanying me to the Pyramids. We had a rich discussion on the cultural histories of our nations and how to deepen these linkages in the times to come,” Modi Twitted.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Cairo on Saturday in the first visit by an Indian premier in more than two decades.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli received Modi, who is making the visit to Egypt as per the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at Cairo International Airport.
Modi’s delegation includes the Indian foreign minister, national security advisor and senior officials from the Cabinet and the Indian foreign ministry, a statement by the Egyptian Cabinet read.
During Modi’s visit, he and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi signed a joint declaration to elevate relations to the level of strategic partnership. In that context, they conferred over boosting the exchange of strategic goods, and trade exchange in general, as well as enlarging Indian investments in Egypt.
President Sisi decorated Prime Minister Modi with the "Order of the Nile," which is the highest civilian award in Egypt. It is noted that the visit is the first by an Indian chief of state in nearly two decades, and marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
