The participants of the 3rd edition of Korean Cultural Center's regular cultural event in 2023.
Korean Cultural Center organized the 3rd edition of its regular cultural event in 2023, bringing glimpses of the Korean culture more closely to Egyptian public throughout experiencing traditional Korean art, music, and cuisine.
Attendees, who are mainly made up of young people taking a part in the taekwondo classes run by the centre, had an opportunity to discover the Korea’s cultural assets through a range of activities including Korean and Egyptian folk music presented by ANE Band (Artists Network in Egypt), a band composed of Egyptian and Korean musicians.
Mario Mamdouh (24 years - ANE Band musician) added “I cannot be happier seeing the people getting excited and surprised by the harmony”.
As well, they enjoyed an in-depth tour of our special exhibition ‘Cultural Boxes’ which take them in a journey through the Korea’s past and the daily real life of the Korean people.
Later, they were invited to try on the traditional Korean clothing ‘Hanbok’. A type of clothing that is made of bright colours like the traditional Egyptian dress in its vibrant colour. Also, the attendees visited the Korean cultural centre library and learned how to write their names in Korean alphabet ‘Hangeul.’
Lastly, the attendees had the chance to experience the taste of Korean cuisine. They tried out traditional dishes, such as Tokboki and Bibimbap.
OH, Sungho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt said that the Center is planning to organize Korean Cultural week in the coming period in order to offer an opportunity for many Egyptians to directly experience Korean Culture while promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries.
