Egyptian star Amir El-Masry competes with his movie "Club Zero" in the official competition of Cannes Film Festival.
El-Masry plays the role of a ballet teacher in the movie that is directed by Jessica Hausner.
The film competes within the Official Competition in the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival that kicked off on May 16 and will continue to May 27.
The premiere night of Club Zero is scheduled to be held on May 22.
This marks the second participation of El-Masry in the Cannes Film Festival, since his film "Limbo"
which received wide success and positive critical acclaim ahead of the film’s tour in prestigious film festivals around the world such as BFI London Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival and Filmfest München.
Most recently, Amir El-Masry played the role of the Egyptian businessman, Mohamed Al-Fayed at an early age in the highly acclaimed American drama, "The Crown".
He also portrayed the character of an Egyptian doctor during World War II in the British series SAS Rogue Heroes. El-Masry starred in the musical series Magnouna Bik (Crazy About You) which topped Shahid VIP’s watching lists on the platform.
His latest film "#Gawwezni" was released in theaters throughout the Arab world.
