Six movies by sound designer Mohamed Salah hit Egyptian cinemas in May

Six films by sound designer Mohamed Salah will be released in cinemas during May.
 
Salah is preparing to compete at the Egyptian box office with the release of director Sherif Mohsen’s film "The Back Row" on May 17.
 
 
The film stars Bayoumi Fouad and Tayam Amar. Additionally, Mohamed Salah is waiting for the release of "19B" movie by director Ahmad Abdalla, staring Sayed Ragab.
 
This comes after the film’s premiere within the 44th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), during which it won three awards; the FIPRESCI Award, the Best Arab Film Award, and Henry Barakat Award for Best Artistic Contribution.
 
Zawya cinema releases four short films by sound designer Mohamed Salah during the 7th edition of Zawya Shorts. Sahbety (My Girlfriend) by Kawthar Younis will be screened on May 8. The short film won the Critics’ Award for Best Film at the 45th International Women's Film Festival in France and the Special Jury Award within the Short Films Official Competition at the 44th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).
 
On May 9, two films will be screened; The Ditch A Comb Without Its Teeth. The Ditch is directed by Amr Abed. The short film received the Best Debut Short Film at the Makizhmithran International Film Festival and a Special Mention at the Kiez Berlin Film Festival, among other festivals. Directed by Mohamed Allam, A Comb Without Its Teeth had its world premiere at the Ann Arbor Film Festival. On May 10, the fourth film will be screened which is Mama by director Naji Ismail that received the Best Short Film Award at Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden.
 
Mohamed Salah is a sound designer and mixer who worked on highly-acclaimed works namely; A Thousand and One Nights series (2015), El Ab El Rohi 2 (2018), El Share’ Eli Warana (2018), Hadota Morra (2019), B 100 Wesh (2020), Nemra Etnein (2020), Leabet Newton (2021), and Ded El Kasr (2021). In 2022, he took part in Malaf Serry series that competed within the Ramadan season, and Naql Aam TV drama, in addition to Khareg El Saytara series that topped Shahid VIP watching lists during its broadcasting.
For the film EXT/Night, Mohamed Salah won the Best Sound Award at the 23rd edition of the Egyptian National Film Festival. He also worked on A'azz El Weld film that was released on Shahid VIP platform. In cinema, he worked on several films including; The Black Box (2020), Barra El Manhag (2021), and Hamel El Lakab (2022) as a Dialogue Editor Supervisor. Additionally, Salah worked on a number of documentaries such as Free Trip to Egypt (2019), Captains of Za'atari (2021), and Light upon Light (2022). He took part in a number of short films that toured world festivals such as Night Shift (2020) and Tuk-Tuk (2021).
