CAIRO - 18 July 2017: Booklovers will be delighted to learn that there is now an Instagram account dedicated to a rather overlooked part of a book; 'the dedicated to section.'
The account, 'Dedication Library' (@dedicationlibrary) was started two years ago by book fanatics Noura Al-Joaib and Noura Alzuab, both in the UAE. Al-Joaib tells The National that her favorite part of reading a book were always the dedication sections, since they have always revealed much about an author's life and their inspiration for a book.
Not only has the account garnered devoted fans, it has even managed to attract the attention of critically acclaimed Canadian writer Margaret Atwood.
The National pointed out that while book dedications tend to be about friends and family, some authors go further beyond with them in rather creative ways.
J.K Rowling split her dedications for the final Harry Potter book, Deathly Hallows, to seven different people; a brilliant parallel to a huge element of the plot.
Those who tend to skip the very first pages of a book might be missing out on more than just sentimentally, then.
