CAIRO - 18 July 2017: Crude, violent Superhero film Deadpool was the most complained about film of 2016, at least in Britain. No other film last year generated so many complaints to the British film censors, according to the Guardian post on Tuesday.
Deadpool, adapted from the titular Marvel comics character, featured copious amounts of violence, crude language and sexual references, which lead to concerned British citizens reporting the film to British Board of Film Classification. A report released by the board revealed that there were a total of 51 complaints against the movie, far more than Suicide Squad's 30 and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children's 20.
Much of the complaints might have been raised due to the film being given a '15' rating, though the report defended the movie's rating, pointing out that most violent scenes occurred quickly and that swearing was acceptable in '15' rated movies.
Despite moral objects, Deadpool was well-received by critics and audiences, with a certified 84 percent fresh (good) on critic website 'Rotten Tomatoes' and 8/10 on IMDB.
