CT scanning, 3D printing revealed secrets of the golden boy mummy stored in the Egyptian Museum’s basement

 

CT scanning and 3D printing revealed the secrets of the mummy of the golden boy stored in the basement of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir for more than a century.

 

 

The results of this study were published in Frontiers in Medicine on January 24th, 2023.

 

The study showed that the mummy is wearing a golden mask, a chest piece made of cartonnage, and sandals made of fabric.

 

Around 49 amulets were found inside the wrappings, made of gold, faience, and various types of stone.
