NMEC holds ‘Hassan Fathy: The Architect of the Art of Ballet’ cultural, artistic event

CAIRO – 15 December 2022: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat organized a cultural and artistic event under the title “Hassan Fathy: The Architect of the Art of Ballet”, in cooperation with the Spanish Embassy in Cairo.

 

 

 

 

The celebration presented performances by the Spanish band Dani Pannullo, which took the attendees on a journey around the rich achievements of the distinguished Egyptian architect, Hassan Fathy.

CEO of the Museum’s Authority Ahmed Ghoneim started the celebration with a speech, in which he welcomed the attendees, including public figures, ambassadors, artists and culture enthusiasts, emphasizing the importance of events and activities that reflect Egypt's cultural status and value, and sheds light on the influential figures in the Egyptian cultural life.

 

 

 

 

For his part, Spanish Ambassador to Cairo Alvaro Iranzo expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the museum's administration.

 

 

 

 

A group of Egyptian and Spanish traditional and urban dancers participated in the show. Among these are the Egyptian ballet dancers Emy Sultan and Mohamed el-Sayed, and the artistic director Dani Pannullo.

 

 

 

 

The Egyptian researcher Shahira Mahrez also participated with her experience in the field of fashion and her distinguished knowledge of Islamic and traditional arts in Egypt. This is in addition to the participation of many organizations, including the Arab House Foundation in Madrid, the Aga Khan Fund for Culture, the Egyptian Institute for Islamic Studies in Madrid, and the Sabrina Amrani Art Gallery in Madrid.
