Egypt’s Actors’ Syndicate issued a statement commenting on Menna Shalaby crisis

Egypt’s Actors’ Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki issued a statement expressing its deep sorrow over the circulation of some news and facts that negatively effected Egyptian actress and member of the syndicate Menna Shalaby. These circulated news were spread before the investigations of the Public Prosecution, which is considered a breach of all the rights guaranteed by law to any person standing in front of the judiciary.

The Actors’ Syndicate in its statement asked the media outlets to respect the privacy of its members and wait  for the results of the public prosecution investigations.

Egypt’s Public Prosecution ordered, Friday the release of actress Menna Shalaby after interrogating her in the case of possessing narcotics at Cairo International Airport.

The statement added that Menna Shalaby was arrested at Cairo International Airport after returning from abroad with materials suspected of being narcotics.
