Grand Egyptian Museum announces the start of hosting limited events, group visits

CAIRO – 17 November 2022: The Grand Egyptian Museum announced that it will start hosting some special events and activities and receive limited group visits in some sections and areas inside the museum, as part of launching the trial operation period. The date of the official launching will be announced later.

The entire world is highly anticipating the official launch of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is expected to be inaugurated later this year.

The Grand Egyptian Museum will house more than 50,000 artifacts including all the personal holdings of the Golden King Tutankhamun, all gathered for the first time in one place.

In addition, visitors will enjoy numerous displays for the first time in Egypt and the world, including the Great Staircase, the Hanging Obelisk, Khufu’s 2nd Solar Ship, and more.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is located only 2 kilometers away from the Giza pyramid complex and is the largest archaeological museum worldwide. The museum lies over an area of around 500,000 square meters.
