CAIRO – 26 October 2022: On the occasion of Egypt’s hosting of the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC [COP 27] in Sharm El-Sheikh next November, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Mostafa Waziri issued a decision to change the visiting hours of Sharm El-Sheikh Museum to operate from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., starting from November 5 to November 20.

Waziri explained that this decision was also made to enable the delegations of guests participating in the conference and the tourists present in the city to learn about the ancient Egyptian civilization, and to promote the Egyptian tourist destinations, its products and various tourist patterns, as the city of Sharm El-Sheikh enjoys multiple tourist products, namely beaches, recreational and cultural tourism.Tourists can enjoy its warm beaches and scenic views during the day, and visit the museum to learn about the ancient Egyptian civilization in the evening.

It is worth noting that Sharm El-Sheikh Museum was inaugurated in October 2020, in the presence of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

It is considered the first museum of Egyptian antiquities in South Sinai Governorate, and it is located on an area of approximately 191,000 square meters. The museum consists of three exhibition halls and an entertainment area that includes restaurants and cafeterias.
