CAIRO – 24 October 2022: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Supreme Council of Antiquities, in cooperation with the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion, participated in the 5th Cairo Water Week, under the slogan “Water At The Heart Of Climate Action”.
Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri explained that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities participated in the conference with a pavilion to display a group of archaeological reproductions, scientific books, various materials and promotional films to promote the Egyptian tourist destination and its components, products and various tourist patterns.

A lecture was also given by Executive Vice President of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Authority for Archaeological Affairs Maysara Abdullah, during which he reviewed the importance of the Nile as one of the building blocks of the Egyptian civilization.
For his part, Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities Moamen Othman said that on the sidelines of the conference, the sector organized a temporary archaeological exhibition titled “Egypt Is The Gift Of The Nile & The Egyptians” at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir. The exhibition included 50 artifacts highlighting the importance of the Nile in the lives of the ancient Egyptians as a source of life, a means of transporting people and products and facilitating large construction projects.
Othman pointed out that many delegations participating in the conference were keen to visit the exhibition, including the ministers of Guinea, Angola and Sierra Leone. The museum curators also took them on a tour inside the museum's various halls.
Among the most prominent pieces displayed in the exhibition are a statue of King Amenemhat III, some inscriptions and statues that express the Nile deity Hapi, some ancient Egyptian seeds and plants that express the main crops in Egypt such as barley, flax and papyrus, and models of granaries or farmers while performing their work, in addition to models of various boats.
