13th Cairo International Animation Forum launches on Oct. 17

CAIRO – 11 October 2022: Organized by the Cultural Development Fund Sector, the activities of the 13th Cairo International Animation Forum will launch on October 17 at 6 p.m.

The forum will run until October 24 and will be held under the auspices of Egypt’s Minister of Culture Nevine el-Kilany.

General Commissar of the Forum Ahmed Hanno said that the judging committees for selecting the competing films ended up selecting 112 films in the forum’s competitions in its five sections, with the participation of 33 Arab and foreign countries, including: France, Germany, the United States of America, Brazil, South Korea, the UAE, India, Japan, Algeria, Lebanon, and others.

He indicated that 9 works were selected in the First Work Competition. 71 films have been selected for the Animation Short Film Competition. This is in addition to the selection of 12 films in the Feature Animation Competition, in addition to selecting 7 films in the Experimental Animation Competition. Finally, 13 works were selected for the Animation Advertisements, Film Introductions and Series Introductions competitions.
