CAIRO – 27 September 2022: The serekh sign, a paneled walling with the falcon-headed god Horus usually perched on top, is widely believed to represent the facade of a royal palace.
It was used for the word ‘serekh’ which itself means ‘sign’ or could be used in the word alluding to ‘throne’.
The serekh was associated with the name of the king ‘Horus’, one of the 5 names each ruler would have had during their reign.
