8th Zayed Book Fair launches on October 12

CAIRO – 19 September 2022: Under the slogan "Culture Is Life", the eighth Zayed Book Fair will be held from October 12 to 24.

The Zayed Foundation for Creativity and Development, the Sheikh Zayed City Authority and the city's Board of Trustees are participating in the organization of this event.

The eighth Zayed Book Fair is sponsored by Egypt’s Minister of Culture Nevine el-Kilani, Minister of Housing Assem el-Gazzar, and Governor of Giza Ahmed Rashid.

Director of the book fair Mahmoud Abdel Nabi announced that the guest of honor for this edition of the fair is the Syrian Arab Republic, through the Syrian Publishers Union, to introduce Syrian culture and strengthen cultural relations. Egypt’s iconic writer Naguib Mahfouz is chosen as the book fair’s main personality.

On the sidelines of the book fair, a distinguished cultural program will be held with the active participation of the Culture Palaces Authority, seminars of the National Reading Project and the Syrian Culture Program, as well as seminars to celebrate the international writer Naguib Mahfouz.

On weekends, morning events will be held for children, including art shows and educational workshops for different age groups.

It is worth mentioning that the Arab Publishers Union will participate in this book fair with a special pavilion to introduce Arab culture and to hold various professional seminars.
