File: SITFY launches the participation form for the 7th edition.
Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (SITFY) -headed by Egyptian actor and director Mazen El-Gharabawy- launches the participation form for its seventh edition, bearing in mind that the submission period will last for two months till October 5, 2022.
Additionally, SITFY receives participation forms from all theater groups worldwide, through its digital platform, where English and Arabic versions are uploaded.
The seventh edition of SITFY is scheduled to take place between November (25-30).
SITFY’s founder and chairman, El-Gharabawy, stated that the application form is uploaded in the designated period; however, the festival receives multiple performances nominated by international programmers throughout the year.
Hence, the festival chooses its participating performances through two ways: international programmers and requests for participation.
Furthermore, the management board of SITFY sets 14 terms and conditions for applicants: the selection of performances by young directors is a priority, a director’s age should not exceed 40, and the participating shows should be by young playwrights (not exceeding 40).
Moreover, the duration of a participating show shall not exceed an hour and a half.
There are also other terms and conditions attached to the participation form.
It is noteworthy that Lady of Arab Theater, veteran Egyptian actress Samiha Ayoub is SITFY’s honorary president and veteran Egyptian actor, Mohammad Sobhy is the president of SITFY’s higher committee.
The managing director of SITFY is Dr. Engy El-Bestawy.
SITFY is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture, Nevine El Kelany and South Sinai Governor, Major General Khaled Fouda.
