The Egyptian House of Representatives approved on Saturday a partial Cabinet reshuffle that included 13 ministerial portfolios under the government of Mostafa Madbouli, including the Ministry of Culture.
As per the reshuffle, Dr. Nevine Youssef El Kelany will assume the post of Minister of Culture succeeding Inas Abdel Dayem.
Kelany who is the current dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts was graduated in 1989, and in 1995 she received her PHD in Art Criticism from the Academy of Arts.
In 2014 she was appointed as the dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts.
Kelany worked as an assistant to the former head of the Cultural Development Fund, Salah Shoukair in supervising the opening ceremony of Cairo opera house, later she was appointed as the head of the Cultural Development Fund.
In addition to her vast academic career, she also worked in the field of public relations for Cairo opera house and Cairo Opera House’s creativity center.
