3rd Egyptian Aragouz Festival kicks off on Aug. 15

CAIRO – 11 August 2022: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the WAMDA Group for Shadow Puppets, will hold the 3rd Egyptian Aragouz Festival on August 15 at 7 p.m. in Al-Sennari Archaeological House.

In its 3rd edition, the festival includes a group of performances that embody the splendor and beauty of heritage and address some contemporary issues, as well as performances that depict different life situations.

The festival comes in light of the interest in the Aragouz Art as one of the elements of human heritage, after it was placed on the Urgent Safeguarding Lists by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization [UNESCO] in 2018.
