During the tour, Enani instructed the immediate start of a project to develop and raise the efficiency of the library and complete it as soon as possible, with an emphasis on preserving its ancient archaeological nature in proportion to its history and its scientific and archaeological status, as it is one of the oldest libraries dedicated to the civilizations of Egypt and the ancient Near East.
The library’s development project aims to transform it into a museum and library for the mothers of books in Egyptology, while providing a reading room for intellectuals and VIP visitors.
The project includes transferring books and scientific periodicals to the Grand Egyptian Museum and making them available to researchers and scholars.
The development project will also include raising the efficiency of the library’s halls, their original lighting, and wooden bookshelves, while displaying old heritage tools such as telephones and library signs.
