CAIRO – 14 July 2022: The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir began providing free guided services to Egyptian visitors during the summer season, religious and other official holidays.
This is within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' plan to raise tourism and archaeological awareness among various segments of society.
Director General of the Museum Sabah Abdel Razek said that this service is provided by a group of youth (Friends of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir), students of the Faculties of Archeology, Literature and Tourist Guidance. Their mission is to explain the ancient Egyptian civilization and thought to the Egyptian visitors of the museum. These guided tours will be presented in the Arabic language only.
Moreover, this step comes within the framework of the activities offered by the "Friends of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir", which was established by the former Director-General of the Museum Sayed Hassan in 1990, with a desire to develop the capabilities of outstanding students and educate the Egyptians about the need to learn about their unparalleled ancient civilization from specialists.
Abdel Razek emphasized the effective and educational role that the museum plays as an educational and cultural institution.
