152 photographs taken by renowned photographer Andreas Gursky for sale at Bonhams

CAIRO – 22 June 2022: Bonhams Auctions in London is offering a collection of 152 photographs by international artist Andreas Gursky, for sale at a price ranging from $150,000 to $250,000.

According to Bonhams, the photographs were taken in 1996 by Gursky for a famous hotel in Atlanta.

Gursky is one of the world's most famous photographers. Galleries often race to provide what his lens picks up.

Gursky was born in 1955, in Leipzig, to a father who was a commercial photographer. Between 1978 and 1981, he studied visual communication at the University of Essen.

Gursky then pursued his education under Bernd Becher, a professor at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf, who at that time, developed a special direction in painting along with his wife Hella. Gursky was one of the first students of Bernd Becher. He became world famous in the 90s.
