Rome honors Zahi Hawass as the most famous Egyptologist in the world

Inside the Square of Pienza located near Rome, the city honored Zahi Hawass as the most famous Egyptologist in the world.

 

Hawass gave a talk in front of 3,000 people in the open air.

 

The honor is made through a festival known as The Caffeina Festival.

 

This festival is held every year and they chose forty well known scholars from a field related to art and culture, cinema, theatre, books, and movies.

 

The festival selects  forty scholars from all over the world and each present a speech in the square of the city.

 

The festival began on June 10 and ended on June 12th.

 

Hawass gave a talk entitled “From Tutankhamun to Cleopatra.”

 

He announced that Egypt will be celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun with an international conference and dinner.

 

The new Tutankhamun opera will also be shown for five days in front of the temple of Hatshepsut.

 

The opera was written by Hawass.

 

Hawass’s photo was put up on every street in the city of Pienza as he is a well-known face in Italy.
