CAIRO – 8 June 2022: The Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass expressed his happiness to participate in the Gate Travel Expo 2022 due to its importance in promoting tourism in Egypt.
Hawass stated that the event is the first of its kind in Egypt, and if it succeeds next September, it will have a great impact outside Egypt.
Furthermore, Hawass pointed out that archaeologists provide free advertising in tourism through new discoveries, and Egypt's celebration on November 4, 2022, marking the 100th anniversary of Howard Carter's discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, cannot be ignored. He stressed that the event must be used well because it highlights the greatest discovery that has ever been made in human history. Tutankhamun's tomb contained 5,398 artifacts that will all be displayed at the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum at the end of 2022.
Hawass confirmed that archaeological discoveries play an important role in the return of cultural tourism, noting that the success of the conference is important, especially in light of the new discoveries that will be announced during the coming period.
The conference announcing the details of GTE2022 launched Monday. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, GTE2022 is scheduled to be held on September 6 - 9, 2022 in Al-Qubba Presidential Palace for the first time, with the participation of many official bodies, ministries and international companies.
