Goethe Film Week to be held in Cairo, Alexandria on June 5-13

CAIRO – 1 June 2022: The Goethe-Institute announced the return of the Film Week from June 5 to June 13 in Cairo and Alexandria, to present a diverse program of films, discussion panels on global cinema issues, lectures and workshops held by important names in the Egyptian and German film industries.

The program includes important German productions of independent and commercial films, dramas, musicals, documentaries and short films.

Additionally, the film week aims to shed light on Egyptian and Arab directors whose films participated in international and local festivals during the past year. The film screenings will be followed by dialogue sessions with the directors.

The German Film Program provides a diverse overview of the German film scene in the past year, presenting 11 films, five of which were directed by female filmmakers, participated in international film festivals and won wide public and critical attention.

At the level of Arab films, the program includes eight films, which participated in the largest international film festivals.
