Egypt’s Min. of Tourism & Antiquities participates in IMEX Frankfurt 2022

CAIRO – 1 June 2022: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the General Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, is participating in the 20th IMEX, one of the most important international tourism exhibitions specialized in incentive and conference tourism.

IMEX runs from May 31 to June 2, at Frankfurt, Germany.

The Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition was inaugurated by Mohamed Farag, the tourism attaché at the Egyptian Tourist Office in Germany and the administrative and financial supervisor of the tourism offices in Russia, Italy and their supervisory countries.

Farag explained that the General Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority is participating with a pavilion of 2,100 square meters, with the participation of a number of Egyptian tourism companies and hotels specialized in incentive tourism, in addition to the national airline EgyptAir.

During the first day of the exhibition, Farag held a number of professional meetings with officials and representatives of companies specialized in incentive tourism and conferences from different countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, in addition to a number of Arab and European countries. This comes in light of the noticeable demand to organize conferences and meetings in Egypt.

Farag further explained that large screens have been installed inside the Egyptian pavilion to display promotional clips about the Egyptian tourist destinations to highlight the country's diverse and unique tourist and archaeological elements, and to shed light on the features that make it one of the most important attractive destinations for incentive tourism.

Farag added that he will hold more meetings with companies specialized in incentive tourism and conferences, and will conduct a series of interviews with representatives of German and international media outlets.

IMEX is one of the most important international tourism exhibitions specialized in incentive and conference tourism. Its first edition was held in 2003. It attracts the most important tourism decision makers from international organizations, institutions and companies specialized in incentive tourism and conferences.

More than 3,439 exhibitors representing 172 countries  participate in IMEX, and more than 8,000 professional visitors, who specialize in this high-spending type of tourism, attend it.

This is in addition to the participation of the major tourism countries in the world from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Spain, France and others. It also attracts a large number of representatives of the German and international media.
