CAIRO – 29 May 2022: Under the auspices of Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome organized an artistic celebration that came as the first cooperation with the Santa Sicilia Conservatory in Rome.
The celebration presented excerpts from the greatest operas of all time, with the participation of the Egyptian tenor Amr Talaat, a member of the State Prize for Artistic Creativity. This was preceded by screening a documentary film produced by the academy to shed light on the architectural styles of the most important royal palaces in Egypt, including Abdeen Palace, Al-Qubba Palace, Al-Gezira Palace and Mohammad Ali Palace in Manial.
This was followed by a lecture delivered by the Italian architect Giulia Agrosi on the restoration work in the Mohammad Ali Palace in Shubra, which will soon be inaugurated.
Abdel Dayem said that Egypt and Italy come among the oldest countries that have made arts and culture an important part of their civilization. She added that the cooperation between the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome and the Santa Sicily Conservatory, which is one of the oldest and most prominent Italian institutes, comes within the framework of efforts to strengthen partnership with Italian cultural institutions.
The minister further stressed the importance of the intellectual and artistic exchange between the two countries, which underlines the features of their creative movement.
