CAIRO – 22 May 2022: In the presence of Director of the National Center for Translation Karma Sami, and the ambassador of Mexico to Egypt, a ceremony will be held on May 22 to announce the winner of the Mexican fictional literature translation competition, at the National Center for Translation's Taha Hussein Hall.
The center will honor the winner, along with three other translators that applied for the competition.
With the aim of building bridges of communication through translating the Mexican culture to the Arab reader, the National Center for Translation had launched the first edition of the competition in cooperation with the Mexican Embassy in Cairo in September 2021.
The winner will receive a prize of $1,000 and a certificate of appreciation, in addition to a collection of works from the Mexican literature. The winning work will be published by the National Center for Translation.
