CAIRO – 18 May 2022: Egypt’s Fine Arts Sector is organizing a collective art exhibition titled "Generations Forum" at Ramattan Cultural Center on May 25 at 6 pm.
The exhibition runs until June 4.
It is worth noting that the Taha Hussein Museum occupies the Ramattan villa building, in which the dean of Arabic literature resided from 1955 until his death in 1973. His wife resided there until her passing in 1989; then it turned into a museum.
In 1992, the Ministry of Culture bought the villa and in July 1993, the family of Taha Hussein presented to the Ministry of Culture the Grand Nile Collar, a set of decorations, medals, scientific and honorary certificates, and rare manuscripts that Taha Hussein had obtained during his lifetime, in addition to all his personal belongings and the furniture of his villa, including rare oil paintings and statues of great Egyptian artists.
In addition, the museum houses the Taha Hussein Arabic Library, which contains more than 3,000 books. The museum was inaugurated on July 15, 1997 after the construction of an annex building to be a cultural center bearing the name Ramattan Cultural Center located on a part of the villa's garden.
