CAIRO – 18 May 2022: Within the framework of cultural and artistic events that the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat is keen to organize as part of its role as a civilization, cultural, educational and artistic beacon, the museum organized in cooperation with the Spanish Embassy in Cairo, an artistic flamenco evening, starring the famous international dancer Annabelle Veloso accompanied by her band.
A group of public figures, current and former ministers, Egyptian and Spanish government leaders attended the ceremony, including Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed and the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of Spain, in addition to public figures, and a number of pioneers and influential individuals in the local and international community.
The ceremony began with a speech delivered by CEO of the Museum Authority Ahmed Ghoneim, in which he welcomed the audience, the artist Annabelle Veloso and her band. He stressed that the museum is always keen to present all forms of arts, affirming the importance of introducing the Egyptian society to the Spanish culture and the art of flamenco, which is linked to Arab origins.
A documentary film on the history of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the stages of its establishment and the achievements made in it was also screened.
For his part, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in Cairo expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received and his happiness to participate in this wonderful evening, in which Spanish art meets Egyptian civilization.
The international artist Annabelle Veloso expressed her happiness and described her participation in the museum's event as a dream, and a great beginning for a new phase in her life.
Annabelle Veloso is a Spanish artist, and one of the most prominent creators of this fine art. She started her career as a fashion model and then joined the Flamenco School Amore de Dios. She presented many successful international shows, participated in specialized festivals, and won international artistic awards.
