CAIRO – 16 May 2022: Bonhams Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers in London is preparing to present an auction titled “Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Including on the Banks of the Nile”, on May 24.

 

 

 

 

The auction includes many paintings by pioneering plastic artists and some contemporary artists.

 

 

 

 

Among the paintings on display are two paintings by the late Egyptian artist Gazbia Sirry, the first is titled "Flowers", and its value is estimated between £8,000 and £25,000, and the second comes under the title "Humanity", and its value is estimated between £18,000 and £25,000.

The late artist belongs to the second generation of Egyptian photographers. She carried the depth of an ancient civilization, revealing her love for it through her distinguished works. Her paintings are a continuous dialogue with the problems and events of her society. She had a high sense of the joyful and sorrowful issues of the homeland.

 

 

 

 

Her artworks expressed the revolution, the High Dam, the setback, the victory, and the details of popular life in general, in a unique, popular, humanistic, expressive style mixed with fantasy.

 

 

 

 

Sirry’s artistic career spanned from 1950 to 2021.

 

 

 

 

Also, the paintings of the late iconic artist Gazbia Sirry received global attention, as her paintings were sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars in international auctions.

 

 

 

 

Sirry began her journey globally since the seventies, by participating in major exhibitions in France and other countries, thus proving her unique talent.
