CAIRO – 15 May 2022: Under the auspices of Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Touirsm & Antiquities Khaled el-Enani, and Governor of Al-Sharqiyah Mamdouh Ghorab will launch the activities of the 1st Tell Basta Music & Singing Festival.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture represented by the Egyptian Opera House, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities represented by the Tourism Promotion Authority, and Al-Sharqiyah Governorate.

 

 

 

 

The festival will be held from May 20 to May 22 and includes 6 different artistic performances.

 

 

 

 

Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem thanked Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly for his sponsorship of the festival, which reflects the state's belief in the role of soft powers in the development and progression of society. She said that the continuation of creative activities in the tourist areas works to promote the Egyptian civilization, with its historical and contemporary elements.

 

 

 

 

Moreover, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enani stressed that holding the Tell Basta Music & Singing Festival comes as a continuation of the fruitful and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Ministry of Culture. Within the framework of this cooperation, a series of diverse artistic and cultural events is set to be held in various governorates nationwide to encourage domestic tourism and raise tourism and archaeological awareness among Egyptians. This represents one of the objectives of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ strategy for sustainable development 2030.

 

 

 

 

It is noteworthy that the festival’s program of activities brings together six performances over three nights, which are presented  by the Brass Sound Band, Medhat Saleh accompanying pianist Amr Selim and his band, among many others.
