1982 - Egypt regains the Sharm el-Sheikh area, which is considered part of the Sinai, within the framework of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Agreement.

2004 - An explosion in the Traffic Department in Saudi Arabia kills 4 people and injures 145 others.
