CAIRO – 21 March 2022: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the General Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, organized a festival for bird watching and photography enthusiasts in Port Said Governorate.
The festival was titled “1st Port Said Experimental Festival for Photography & Bird Watching" and was held in coordination with the Department of Internal Offices of the Tourism Offices Sector, and the main office of the Tourism Promotion Authority in Port Said. It also cam in cooperation with Port Said Governorate, Ashtum Al-Jamil Reserve Administration, Ministry of Environment, and Port Fouad City Council.
This festival was held within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' keenness to support tourism promotion for Egypt's various tourist destinations, by utilizing the existing tourism patterns and adding new ones to the diversified Egyptian tourism product. This also comes in line with the Egyptian state's plan, which aims to further develop tourism in all of Egypt's governorates.
Head of the Central Administration of Tourist Offices Maged Abu Sedira explained that the launch of this festival in Port Said for the first time is a step towards promoting bird watching tourism, targeting enthusiasts from all over the world.
Port Said is famous for its salt lake, east of Port Fouad, as well as the Manzala Lake area, which is adjacent to the Ashtum Al-Jamil Reserve that contains more than 30 species of migratory birds, including flamingos, swans, waders, starlings and other species.
Sedira added that the festival was attended by a large number of tourists and social media influencers.
