Egypt’s tourism & antiquities min. holds meeting to discuss ways of promoting motorsports

CAIRO – 16 March 2022: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism & Antiquities Khaled el-Enani held a meeting with CEO of the General Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority Amr el-Qadi and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt Ali Issa to discuss ways of cooperation in motorsports that can be considered as a significant tourist attraction.

The convention was held in the presence of a number of officials from the General Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority and the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt.

During the meeting, the importance of motorsports in revitalizing and promoting the Egyptian tourist destinations was reviewed through a presentation. It was also agreed to study a number of events that would put Egypt on the map of sports tourism.

It is worth noting that the pattern of sports tourism is one of the tourism patterns that receive attention from the ministry, as it contributes to attracting different segments of tourists, especially youth.

Egypt had previously organized motorsports events such as the "Pharaohs Rally".
