632 - The Prophet Mohammad leaves Mecca heading towards Medina after completing the rites of Hajj in what was known as the Farewell Pilgrimage.

 

 

 

1922 - Egypt declares independence according to the February 28 declaration issued by Britain.

 

 

 

1922 - Fouad I, son of Khedive Ismail, announces the change of the regime from a sultanate to a kingdom and changes his title from Sultan Fouad to King Fouad I.

 

 

 

1939 - Sister of King Farouk I of Egypt, Princess Fawzia, gets married to the Crown Prince of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
