CAIRO – 1 March 2022: Under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Qena Governorate, is organizing the activities of the 2nd Dendera Festival for Music and Singing in Qena from March 3 to March 5.
Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that Mostafa Madbouly’s sponsorship of cultural and artistic events reflects the state's interest and belief in the importance of the role of soft power in advancing society and reshaping awareness. She also stressed the need to invest in cultural and artistic events in promoting the Egyptian civilization.
Abdel Dayem added that the current stage is witnessing continuous coordination with Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enani, to hold creative events in the various governorates' archaeological and historical sites.
The minister confirmed that the activities are implemented by the Egyptian Opera House headed by Magdy Saber, accompanied by a book fair organized by the General Egyptian Book Organization, in which the National Center for Translation, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces and the Dar Al-Maaref Foundation participate. She pointed out that the festival works to spread enlightenment and achieve cultural justice throughout the country.
For his part, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enani stressed that the existing cooperation between the ministries of tourism and culture to organize cultural, artistic and tourism events in various archaeological sites, especially in Upper Egypt, sheds light on the civilized face of Egypt and its ancient heritage and works to attract the citizens’ attention to art and creativity.
Enani added that the Dendera Festival for Music and Singing, which will be held in Qena, is a gift to the people of the governorate to raise their cultural awareness and their passion for fine art. It also maximizes the role of the Egyptian soft power in supporting and revitalizing the tourism movement.
