File: Women and Life Symposium.
In cooperation with Land of Art Foundation, Aswan International Women Film Festival will launch the Women and Life Symposium, featuring an abundance of artists will take place during the sixth edition of AIWFF running from February 23-28.
Women and Life Symposium will witness the participation of 20 artists from several countries, including Egypt, Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine and Qatar.
The symposium aims to shed light on the common space between plastic art and cinema by mixing color and image, in addition to the nature of the place where the Aswan Festival is held, as Aswan is the city that reflects history, civilization, art and charming nature.
Director of Land of Art Foundation Hassan Karim said: “The Foundation aims to hold exhibitions, workshops, artistic and cultural seminars on an international level to develop the artist’s artistic culture, in order to have creative artists distinguished by their own style and technique.
The symposium cordinator Safaa Deshty said that it is an important and exciting event for every plastic artist who is concerned with making art that tackles women issues.
Deshty added that women are that important and vibrant entity in various fields and the expressive element of feelings, tenderness and love, as she is the beloved mother, sister, daughter and friend.
The symposium is an important opportunity to learn about Aswan's historical position and geographical location as it is a place symbolizing the Pharaonic civilization.
