CAIRO – 6 February 2022: Engineer Ziad Ahmed designed a graffiti for the Moroccan child Rayan and completed it over a period of 5 hours.
The graffiti was placed next to those of the hero martyr Ahmed Mansi and the “doctor of the poor”. This comes to express support and solidarity with his family after the passing of their child in a tragic accident.
On February 6, Morocco is set to hold the honorary funeral of the child Rayan, after determining the cause of his death.
According to Russia Today, the body of the "well child" is lying in the military hospital in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, after 5 days of clinging to the hope of finding and exhuming him alive.
After announcing the official news of his death, the Royal Court explained in a statement issued Saturday evening, that King Mohammed VI had made a phone call to Rayan's parents, and expressed his deepest condolences to all his family members. His Majesty also expressed his appreciation of the authorities' tireless efforts to rescue Rayan and get him out of the well.
The operation to rescue Rayan, the 5-year-old who was stuck in a 60-meter-deep well on the outskirts of Chefchaouen, northern Morocco, drew great sympathy from all over the world.
Many posted the picture of the child and attached them to blogs in different languages, and many hashtags holding his name were launched.
The deceased child spent about 100 hours inside a narrow hole in the well, where he suffered bleeding in his head due to hitting rocks during the fall. A team entered the tunnel to extract the child Rayan, and examine him. The medical examination showed that he was suffering from fractures in the neck and spine.
Millions in Morocco and the Arab world awaited a happy ending to the ordeal of the child, but fate decided that he takes his last breath alone, shortly before the rescue team arrived.
