"Your Royal Coffee" temporary exhibition launches in Alexandria’s Royal Jewelry Museum

CAIRO – 4 January 2022: Under the title "Your Royal Coffee", a temporary exhibition was opened at the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria, including part of a coffee set from King Farouk's possessions.

 

 

 

 

Professor Safaa Farouk Ragab, the museum's general manager, explained that this exhibition is part of a series of temporary exhibitions that the museum hosts to shed light on some of the artifacts in the museum’s store.

Ragab pointed out that the exhibition includes 32 antiquities consisting of 15 gilded cups and 17 cup-holders (stands) that are decorated from the outside with royal-Louis XV drawings.

 

 

 

 

The exhibition is scheduled to run for 3 months.

 

 

 

 

The Royal Jewelry Museum is one of the European architecture masterpieces, built by Italian engineer Antonio Lachiac in 1919. 

 

 

 

 

The museum building is a palace belonging to Princess Fatima Haider, one of the princesses of the Mohammad Ali family, and is distinguished by its architecture, decorations, and artistic units.

 

 

 

 

The palace was converted into a museum in 1986 and contains 1,045 pieces of rare collectibles of gold, silver and precious stones belonging to the family of Mohammad Ali Pasha.
