CAIRO – 30 December 2021: Antiquities expert Abdel Rahim Rihan, Director General of Archaeological Research and Studies and Scientific Publishing in South Sinai at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that New Year's celebrations in Egypt have a special character.

It is a tourist season for local, regional and international tourism, where all the hotels in Egypt become fully-booked due to the keenness of these hotels to present creative celebratory activities every year in an Egyptian style revived by the pioneering artists of the various folk arts in Egypt.

Rihan added, in press statements, that Egyptian families are keen to make their children happy by buying Christmas cakes in addition to eastern and western desserts to celebrate Christmas, while others prefer staying up late in front of the satellite TV screens that compete to present the best of what they have on that special occasion.

Rihan added that many Arab tourists arrive to Egypt a few days prior to the celebrations to visit the tourist and archaeological sites nationwide, especially the Cairo Tower, and celebrate New Year's Eve with locals in hotels and tourist resorts.

The tourists are always keen to roam several governorates in Egypt during Christmas and New Year celebrations, especially Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan. Visitors who want spiritual tourism prefer to spend the end of the year among the Holy Valley in St. Catherine.

Whatever your interests may be, you will certainly find your spot in Egypt.
